Time flies really fast!
It was 2010 when all of us from Batch '86 were all eager to celebrate our alma mater's 46th year, with our batch as the Homecoming host. After the very successful Grand Homecoming of 2010, we were all excited to see each other yet again, and again, and again - hence the several pocket reunions that we had. Boy were they all a blast! One after the other, we can not seem to get enough! That's what 24 long years can do to people who were quite intact before parting ways. Slowly but surely, new faces emerged, until most from the batch have been found. And the funny thing was - we seemed not to run out with old memories to share from way back when! And even if we've heard about them already from the previous reunions, it never mattered! They still evoked the same intense laughter, they still could pinch the heart with much nostalgia, and they still brought delight and awe to one and all! In hind sight, I guess courtesy and politeness come with age.
One year of celebration could not make up for the very long years that we were apart. Those long years came and went so fast, and were really not consciously counted as they came. One year of recapturing our youth, camaraderie and brotherhood was not enough to fill the void which somehow was there immediately after we first saw each other last April of 2010. How could we have allowed it to happen - to let years and years of sudden oblivion creep into the creases of our so called well founded bondage? "Had it been 24 years" we asked ourselves, and somehow felt some guilt for letting the richness of youth pass without sharing the experiences gained along the way with our so called good and better friends - friends that we had most of our young lives.
Yes, one year of celebration is not enough, even if we cap it with one hell of a Grand Alumni Homecoming - which we did quite obviously last April 2011. And to see them pocket reunions coming quite the same way that they did last year is wishful thinking, for we are compelled unknowingly to continue living our lives the way it had always been laid out these past years - separately. So expect the gladness that was felt last year to come fleeting from now on, until the time is ripe yet again for another round of sharing of old memories - reminiscing the times we together had so dearly.
Time flies really fast! And that is good - for I am looking forward to yet another milestone for our batch to celebrate, hopefully for yet another one whole year!
Kudos Batch '86 for the best 365!

..the best 365 - yet...
